Radiophone EP [Plastik Park Rec]

Released on Plastik Park in December 2010 (PP12035), the Radiophone EP finds FM Radio Gods in a reflective mood — \’Radiofone\’ is a driving but slightly melancholic progressive techno track that gets three remix treatments. Beckers and Hatfield contribute an early take, Switchbox brings a harder-edged interpretation, and a solo Hatfield Remix rounds out the package. The original stands up on its own terms, though — there\’s a quality to the bassline on \’Radiofone\’ that makes it memorable without relying on a conventional hook. Four versions of a single track risks dilution, but each remix here justifies its existence with a distinct approach.
